Le Printemps - Spring!
Make your own cardboard tube binoculars for finding signs of spring around your yard and neighbourhood!
- Find some signs of spring around your yard and draw them in your journal.
- Go for a walk around your neighbourhood with your family and count how many signs of spring you find.
- The Wsanec (Saanich) people divided the year up into 13 moons, each signifying something different in nature. In March, they celebrated the return of the frog and in April, they celebrated the spring blossoms everywhere.
- What colours of flowers can you find on a walk near your house? Can you draw a picture of what you saw, and label the colours of the things you found? Colours in French can be found here.
- Can you hear any frogs singing in your neighbourhood? There are lots singing in my neighbourhood right now, especially in the evening. Maybe you can even spot a frog, and take or draw a picture.
